Natural Remedies For Scabies
Scabies are actually a contagious skin disease and it is generally seen in children and young adults. Redness, rashes, itching and immense pain are the symptoms of this disease. It can generally affect arms, fingers, waist and the portion near the genitals and groin. These are parasitic germs which will appear in unhygienic and unclean places. Some herbal and natural treatments are effective and safe.
St. John’s Wort: It gives soothing effect on skin and provides relief from itching. Fresh juice of it can be applied on the affected area. It is used for at least four times in a day to get it cured in a week.
Margosa: It is an Indian herb to be used to treat scabies. Margosa oil may be applied gently till the oil seeps into the skin. This herb can eliminate bacteria and fungus which has got trapped in the skin.
Aloe Vera : This does not kill scabies but actually it repairs the damage to the skin done by scabies. It contains natural vitamins and mineral that helps to heal faster. Aloe vera gel should be regularly used to treat this ailment.
Menthol: It is an active ingredient which is found in mint. It gives cooling effect and relieves the itching. It is also anesthetic and antiseptic.
Onion: This is very useful remedy of scabies. Peel off five to six onions to get onion skin. These should be boiled in water for approximately 30 minutes. After cooling this solution should be applied on affected areas. It will help to remove itch and mites underneath the skin.
Garlic: Garlic has anti-parasitic quality. The juice of garlic may be rubbed on the scabies to get relief. It can also be taken orally.
Neem (Azadiracta indica) : Neem leaves have antibacterial, anti fungal and antiseptic qualities. Neem oil can be applied to affected areas and its leaves can be boiled in water for taking bath.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa): It has anti inflammatory properties which help to cure scabies. It can cure the problem of itching and inflammation.
Evening primrose (Oenothera biennis): It has GLA which is good for skin. It is usually used to treat eczema and quite effective to cure this disease also.
American pennyroyal (Hedeoma pulegioides): It is a mint family herb which soothes the skin and provides relief from itching. Tincture of it can be applied directly to affected area.
Star anise (Illicium verum): It is an natural antiseptic to be used against this disease. Its oil should be applied directly to affected areas to get relief.
Teatree (Melaleuca Alternifolia): Its oil is antiseptic and may be used against scabies. Tea tree oil is very effective for against mites, bacterial or fungal infections.
Black Walnut: It helps the body to fight parasitic infections. It has a chemical called jugloneis which is useful for fighting against mite infestationsan. Few walnut should be boiled in a cup of water until half of cup water is left. This concentrated water should be used on body.
Five-leaved chaste tree (Vitex negundo): This is a Chinese shrub which is used to various skin disease like scabies, eczema. Leaves should be mashed and applied directly to the skin.
