Natural Remedies For Indigestion

Indigestion can be caused by junk food, alcohol, caffeinated beverages, smoking, irregular dieting, stress, anxiety, and medicines like anti-inflammatory medicines. There are symptoms of heartburn, burning of the stomach, feeling of heaviness long after meal, belching, gas, flatulence, bloating, nausea and poor appetite. All the foods which are refined, processed and altered can put stress and wear out the digestive organs. Even the saturated fats and hydrogenated oils can slow down digestion and over consumption of coffee, alcohol, cigarettes will create acidic condition in the stomach. Some herbs and natural remedies are very effective in curing it.

Angelica: It is good for curing indigestion and improving digestion by relieving spasms and flatulence. In some countries it is widely used to correct gastrointestinal disorders.

Cinnamon: Its use before meal with honey relives acidity and makes food easily digestible. Fullness, bloating, gas, and abdominal cramping problems can be relieved.

Dandelion: It may be used to get relief from gas and digestion gets improved. Liver function also improves functionality.

Fennel: Fennel seeds are good in taste and stimulates digestion. It helps to relive symptoms of bloating and stomach pain. Fennel seeds tea can be made to help digestion.

Gentian: It stimulates appetite and improves digestion. Bloating, flatulence, after taking fatty foods can be relived using this herb.

Hops: Hops is a quite effective in getting relief from indigestion and stress caused indigestion.

Horehound: It stimulates the stomach to secrete digestive juices which helps to promote digestion. It stimulates the secretions from gallbladder also.

Anise: Anise seeds are very useful for promoting digestion, cures  antiflatulent property because. The essential oil of anise includes phytochemicals, creosol, and alpa-pinene, that are antibacterial and anti-spasmodic.

Coriander Juice: It is very useful herb to improve digestion. Two spoon of  coriander  juice mixed with one cup of buttermilk should be taken to correct digestion. Liver function  also improves by its use.

Pineapple Juice: Bromelain which  is a protein-digesting enzyme found in pineapple helps digestion. It should be taken after every meal to improve digestion.
