Glandular fever (Infectious Mononucleosis) is a viral infection caused by Epstein – Barr virus. Epstein – Barr virus is closely related with herpes virus. It is also known as ‘kissing disease’ because this infectious disease travels through saliva from one person to other. This disease attacks teenagers and young adults. People of 10-25 years age mostly are the victims of this disease.
Sore throat, high fever, swollen glands, pain in joints, headache, fatigue, profuse sweating, muscle pains, pain in stomach and skin rashes are its signs.
