Natural Remedies For Canker Sores
Canker sores are kinds of small ulcers which may occur in the mouth. These are very painful and sensitive in the mouth. It will create discomfort in eating or while talking. It can occur in the internal soft tissues of the mouth and are not contagious at all. These may occur at any age and there is possibility of its recurrence after it having been cured completely. Burning or tingling sensation may be felt before these sores appear in the mouth. Some herbal natural remedies are very useful to cure these sores.
Lady’s Mantle: This herb is used traditionally for correcting mouth and throat infections. In a study it was found that 3% extract of it relieved pain and healed the mouth ulcers very quickly. It should be applied thrice in a day to treat this ailment quickly.
Myrrh: This herb contains high amount of tannins and its powder can be taken twice daily to cure this disease. This is good remedy to treat mouth and gum irritation. The capsule can be opened to dab a little directly on the sores to cure this ailment easily.
Tea: Tea may be taken regularly which has got tannins to cure the ailment of mouth sores. Place the tea bag of spent tea on the sores to get relief. Tea of some like bearberry, eucalyptus, st.john’s wort, sage, raspberry, peppermint and licorice may be prepared to heal this ailment. Tea can be taken twice daily to get the desired results.
German Chamomile: Chamomile provides soothing effect on mucous membranes of mouth including lining of the mouth. It is antiseptic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory. This is very useful herb to treat sore throat and gingivitis. It is pain reliever of sores and should be taken twice daily with water to get relief.
Coconut: Take a fresh coconut and crush it to extract milk of it. Gargle with this milk. This is very helpful for curing canker sore.
Sesame Seeds: Take some sesame seeds and crush to make a paste of it. Apply this paste directly on canker sores to get relief.
Goldenseal: It has antiseptic, astringent properties that help in curing infections and wounds. Put two teaspoons of dried powder of this herb in a cup of boiling water. Let it cool then use as a mouth rinse three to four times daily to get relief from canker sores. Its powder can also be applied directly to canker sores.
Licorice: This herb is also a good natural remedy for canker sores. It contains tannin to help in speedy recovery from this disease. A mouthwash prepared with it should be used to get relief.
Cankerroot: This herb is very effective to treat this disease and can be used as a tea to cure both throat sores and canker sores. The roots can be chewed in raw form twice daily to cure this ailment effectively.
Aloe Vera: Aloe vera mouthwash is also very effective in treating canker sores. It contains aloe polysaccharide acemannon which speeds up the healing of canker sores. Use its gel for mouthwash two to three times per day.
