Natural Cures For Athletes Foot
Fungal infection of the skin is known as athlete’s foot and is also called tinea pedis. The fungus can thrive in warm places, damp environment, locker rooms, health clubs, public showers and indoor swimming pools. Itching, burning, stinging on the toes or on the soles of the feet, scales, cracks, cuts, peeling skin and skin dryness on the sides or bottoms of the feet are the symptoms of this ailment. Some natural remedies are very effective to cure this disease.
Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia): It is one of the common remedies of this disease. It is an antiseptic to kill bacteria and fungus which is main cause of this ailment. This oil may be effective to cure itching, inflammation and burning of the skin. It should be applied twice in a day for four weeks to see the results.
Vinegar: This is the cheapest remedy to apply generously by hand to get the itching cured instantly. It can be washed off after few minutes. Change the socks every day to avoid this ailment. The socks should be soaked in vinegar to be washed before use. Make it sure to clean the inside of the shoes by using alcohol to wipe out fingers.
Grapefruit Seeds: It has very strong anti-fungal properties. Apply two or three drops directly on the affected area. Do this two to three times a day. It is better to add ten drops of this mixture in washing machine while washing the socks to avoid its recurrence.
Pineapple Juice: It contains bromelain which has anti inflammatory properties. Take fresh juice of pineapple in enough quantity to cover your feet in a bucket. Keep the feet dipped in the bucket for thirty minutes every night for at least one week to get relief from this disease.
Fresh Garlic: Garlic is considered one of the most powerful herbs to maintain defense system of our body against, bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Fresh garlic juice is very effective to cure this. Apply the paste of fresh garlic on the affected area for some time. Do it daily at least two times a day.
Olive Leaf: It is anti bacterial, antibiotic and antiviral to cure this kind of infection. This is an excellent remedy for fungal infection. Rub this on affected areas and wait for 30 minutes. Repeat this two or three times a day.
Myrrh: It is a wonderful remedy. Its anti-septic and anti-fungal properties make it just right for a foot bath for athlete’s foot. Apply this daily several times to prevent itching and cracking of skin associated with athlete foot.
Calendula (Calendula officinalis): Its oil has anti-fungal and anti-septic properties and it can also be taken internally to fight infection. Calendula tincture can be infused into a non fragrant body lotion to apply on affected area. This should be done at least two or three times in a day.
