Frequent Headaches Home Remedies
Headache can make everything difficult for you. If you have severe headache, you can’t even enjoy or simply relax. Headaches are of two types- Primary and secondary. Tension, migraine and cluster headaches can be included in 1st category because these pains are not caused by any fundamental medical condition. Infection or increased pressure in the skull can be included in the 2nd category because they occur due to some medical condition. A small percentage of people suffer from secondary headache.
There are many treatments available to cure frequent headaches within a few minutes in medical science but these medicines can have some side effects too. Side by side there are many herbal remedies sans any kind of side effects, which are prevalent since times immemorial.
Basil Tea, Chamomile Tea, Mint Tea and Catnip Tea are good for headache as home remedies. Basil leaves can also be used to get relief from headache. Adding one teaspoon of basil leaves in a cup of boiled water at night can help you get rid of headache. Chamomile tea is good for relaxing tension and pressure. Add one tablespoon of chamomile flower in one cup of boiled water and add half tablespoon of honey for quick relief.
Mint tea is good for those who experience headaches recurrently. Consumption of mint tea twice a day is extremely beneficial. You can also place wet mint leaves in a piece of cloth and lay it from corner to corner on the forehead to get relief from headache. Tea prepared from three tablespoons of Catnip in a cup of water can also do magic.
Massage with lukewarm oil is magical in relieving headache. Massage also helps in reducing tension. It relaxes your muscles and makes you sleepy. After a good and sound sleep you certainly feel pleasant and fresh. A good massage of head is also good for the health of hair. Hot wet compress also helps to lighten up your muscles and alleviate headache.
A simple footbath in lukewarm water can also help you get rid of headache. You can also take bath with hot water to relax your body. It helps not only in relieving your headache but also makes you feel fresh.
Use of Acupressure techniques is also good for headache. Try pinching the skin between the eyebrows and the skin of the back neck with the use of index finger and thumb. This helps you cure headache natrually.
Vegetables can also be used for curing headaches and these are easily available at home. Lemon crust is helpful in curing severe headache. Grind lemon crust and apply it on the forehead. It is a very effective and easy method. Juice of carrot, cucumber, beet and spinach is a very good and healthy way of curing headache. Orange juice is also good in reliving minor headaches.
As a rule of thumb, maximum intake of fruits and vegetables helps in preventing day-to-day headaches.
