Eye Stye Natural Cure At Home
Eye Stye is an infection on eyelid that causes the inflammation of the eyelid. Stye resembles pimple or a boil and it can occur due to staphylococcal (staph) bacteria. This can be cured at home in initial stage very easily. Many effective eye stye natural cures are widely used to avoid complications.
What are eye stye symptoms ?
Early symptoms of eye stye are swelling, redness and pain. These are followed by a pimple on the eyelid. Avoid handling the stye, touching or squeezing the stye will not do any good but instead make the condition worse.
Some eye stye natural treatments
Following are some eye stye home treatments to cure this ailment in its early stage, it is advisable to consult an eye specialist if stye continues growing for more than 4-5 days.
One of the most efficient home remedies for styes is fomentation, mild fomentation should be given 3 to 4 times a day to the affected area, it helps in healing of the wound and draining the pus from the eyelids.
Boil a tablespoon of coriander seeds in a glassful of water, after the water attains the room temperature; use this water to wash your eyes 3-4 times a day.
Turmeric for eye stye
Turmeric powder is known for its antiseptic qualities, add a teaspoon of turmeric to boiling water and take the steam with your eyes open. Only take the enough steam to warm your eyes, don’t take the steam if it suffers.
Alternately, you can also create eye-drops by boiling turmeric with water for 15 minutes, let the water come to room temperature before you use it. Make sure the solution is filtered properly using a clean cotton cloth thus there are no turmeric particles remains.
Ayurvedic herbal preparations like Triphala (Three fruits), Haridra (Curcuma longa), Daruharidra (Berberis aristata), and purified camphor in rose water (Gulab Jal) base are also used as eye drops.
Tea Bag for eye stye
A tea bag can also help in getting relief from the stye irritation. Use a wet a tea bag and put it on affected area of your eyes for ten to fifteen minutes. This tea bag will draw the sty and help in treating eye stye. As per the need, you can repeat this procedure 4-5 times a day.
Alum water is very beneficial in treating eye stye. Mix two to three granules of alum in a glassful of water. Wash your eyes with this mixture 2 to 3 times a day.
Add a teaspoon of salt in a cup of boiling water and allow the mixture to attain the room temperature. Use cotton pads soaked into this mixture and put them on your eyes one after another for two minutes, repeat this procedure for 5 times. This is one of the efficient home remedies for eye stye.
To reduce swelling you can make a paste out of boiled warm potato and spread it on a cloth and apply it externally on inflamed eyes.
Prepare a concentrated extract out of handful acacia leaves by boiling it with a glassful of water. Use it as compress on eyelids to reduce the redness, pain and swelling.
Clove is a very useful remedy for stye. Clove should be rubbed in water and applied over the stye. This will give relief from pain and swelling.
