Natural Remedies For Boils
“Furuncles” also known as Boils are a pus filled swelling in the skin caused by Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria. In this ailment, the bacteria start their attack on the root of the hair follicle and after 5-7 days they come on the surface of the skin in the shape of red, swollen, inflamed, warm and pus filled boils. These boils can remain on the skin for 7-24 days. It depends on the nature of infection and level of treatment.
Boils is a very common skin problem around the world and the victim of this infection can belong to any age group. Mostly adolescents and children are easy victims of Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria attack. Many a time poor hygiene and poor eating habits become culprits in the spread of this disease.
Boils can be of two types: – acute boils and chronic boils. Acute boils can be treated simply but chronic boils need much attention and medication because chronic boils are very painful ones. These are caused by continual infections. Sometimes fever also attacks the victim due to chronic infection. Some medical scientists are of the view that boils are the indicator of serious health problems. Regular victims of this infection are suggested to go for a complete physical examination.
The favorite attack areas of the Boils are under arms, buttocks, inner thighs and legs. The main causes of this infection are stress, illness, allergies, constipation, poor food habits, and thyroid imbalance. Boils are also contagious, so the victims should keep their personal belongings like towels, under garments, soap and hankies at a separate place. The patients should also avoid scratching because it can cause another boil in a nearby area. If the boil spreads to the nearby area, it called a carbuncle and that is a many headed boil.
Natural remedies for boils at home is also very effective with herbs. Garlic is very useful in treating boils. Make garlic as a part of your cooking to avoid boils in the very first place. It acts as a cleansing agent for the body.
Tea tree herb is also very useful for treating boils. Its paste can be applied thrice a day on the affected area to get rid of boils. Due to its anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and germicidal properties, tea tree oil is wonderful in treating this condition. This oil can cause burning sensation in eyes or nose, so be careful while applying it on the affected area.
Drink plenty of water if you are a persistent victim of Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria infection. Fiber rich diet can also prevent boils. Drink plenty of juice regularly, but prefer fresh juice without sugar instead of packed juices. Bitter gourd juice or vegetable juice is very useful in preventing infection. You can also add lime juice in bitter gourd juice for taste.
Turmeric is also magical in treating boils. You can drink turmeric milk or apply turmeric on the boils for relief. Just, fry turmeric in oil for 2-3 minutes and then add 1 spoon of this turmeric powder in milk. Boil milk and drink when it is not too much hot. You can also roast turmeric roots and apply the ashes on the affected area after mixing them with water.
